“Growing up, if we wanted to see my dad, this is where we came,” says Jeannette. That’s because Maurice Tanguay believed that honoring deceased loved ones didn’t end with a funeral. He believed in ongoing care. With every season, he memorialized anew, caring for spring’s blossoms, blanketing the graves in winter, and then—with his wife’s help—adding a baskets to the graves for the holidays. Jeannette grew up helping out on the grounds, but she quickly became interested in making Brooklawn her career. “I wanted to help families and the funeral directors who guide them through such a difficult time,” she says.

Today, Jeannette is a certified crematory counselor, and she brings a comfort and confidence to the crematory process that her father would surely be proud of. Under Jeannette’s direction, Brooklawn Crematory has become a trusted resource for Maine’s funeral directors and families.
